The Rev. Deborah Woolsey

Please reflect on your participation in the life of your congregation, the diocese, and the larger community:

I have been at Church of the Good Shepherd in Athens for five and a half years and am enjoying the unique ministry opportunities serving a parish located in the heart of Ohio University offers. I also serve as the convener of the campus ministry collaborative in the diocese and enjoy connecting with others in campus ministry. In 2020 I was invited to participate in the Becoming Beloved Community Initiative and am excited to be part of this team that includes people throughout this diocese and beyond. I was appointed by the Bishop to serve on the ECM and have enjoyed this ministry supporting so many outreach ministries of the diocese.

Why do you feel God is calling you to serve in this position?

God often calls me out of my comfort zone into something new. While I have served on similar councils in my previous dioceses, I have yet to do so in this diocese.
