Priest resident, Church of the Advent, Cincinnati
Please reflect on your participation in the life of your congregation, the diocese, and the larger community:
I am proud to serve as a second year resident at Advent, Cincinnati, and I am honored to be one of the newest priests in our diocese, having been ordained in June 2018. I was appointed to Standing Committee in 2018 and also serve as a member of Diocesan Council and the Latino Ministry Commission for the diocese. Prior to ordination I served a number of Episcopal churches and organizations in the Cincinnati area in internship capacities, including Christ Church Cathedral where I was previously a member. I’ve also served as an Episcopal missionary at St. Paul’s Church in Rome, Italy, and as an Episcopal Service Corps member with Brendan’s Crossing in Cincinnati. I am a cradle Episcopalian, and before moving to Ohio I was a Diocesan Council member for two years in the Diocese of Maryland.
Why do you feel God is calling you to serve in this position?
God has blessed me with a passion for this church, and I especially enjoy taking part in the polity and governance of our diocese. God has placed me in positions of leadership in the church both when I was a layperson and now as a clergyperson that have enabled me to gain a deep understanding of this diocese and many of its congregations and people. I have been blessed with unique perspectives and gifts as the youngest priest in our diocese and yet as someone with broad experience in our diocese and throughout the Episcopal Church.
