Please describe your participation in the life of your congregation, the diocese, and the larger community
My family and I regularly attend St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Oakwood, OH where I am a member of the Vestry, Altar Guild, assist with leading the Youth Mission Project each summer, and serve as a Lay Minister throughout the year. When I am not at work or spending time with my family, I am committed to serving my community. I was elected to the Valley View Local Schools Board of Education in 2019. Other service experiences include: a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for abused, neglected, and dependent children in Montgomery County, the House of Bread soup kitchen, Habitat for Humanity and my wife, Malinda, and I licensed foster and adoptive parents in Montgomery County. We have adopted six children thus far.
Why do you feel God is calling you to serve in this position?
I was introduced to the Episcopal church during a transition in my life and it has guided me towards the family and life I have now. I am a strong advocate and believe strongly in the service of my community and my church. I feel like God is calling me to know serve in a great capacity at the Diocesan level now advocate for those who parishes and parishioners throughout southern Ohio.
