Brandon Beesley
All Saints, New Albany

Nominee for Lay Deputy to the 81st General Convention
Please describe your participation in the life of your congregation, the diocese, and the larger community.
I am currently a college student attending Capital University in Bexley, Ohio. My congregation is All Saints in New Albany, about 15 minutes away from my college campus. I have been a member of All Saints for about twelve years, and I now remain active in the parish through my membership on vestry, service as acolyte, and other miscellaneous involvements. My service has thus far been restricted quite locally to parishes, and I would love to extend my service to a broader, diocesan level. I hope to offer unique insight to the convention from my perspective as a young member of the church.
Why do you feel God is calling you to serve in this position?
Through my time on vestry at All Saints, I have experienced what it is like to have a role in the decision-making process of a church. Extending this to a broader stage would be a valuable learning experience for me, and I believe and hope I have unique insight to offer. It is no secret that youth are a difficult demographic to reach in a meaningful way, and I hope to be part of the conversation that changes this fact. I know how Christ has impacted my life, and any opportunity to share that impact with others my age is one I hope to be a part of. I believe convention may be such an opportunity.
