R2007-03: A resolution concerning regulation of payday lending in Ohio.
Be it resolved, that this 133rd Convention of the Diocese of Southern Ohio opposes the unfair lending practices within the payday loan industry in the State of Ohio; and be it further
Resolved, that this Convention urges the Ohio General Assembly to adopt legislation to protect all Ohio residents from these unfair lending practices and the cycle of chronic borrowing they create; and be it further
Resolved, that this Convention supports the Ohio Coalition for Responsible Lending and its goal of capping interest rates on payday loans and endorses its campaign for just legislation; and be it further
Resolved, that the secretary of this Convention is directed to send a copy of this resolution to the Ohio Coalition for Responsible Lending and to all the delegates of the Ohio General Assembly within seven days of the close of Convention.
