Resolved, that the Diocesan Task Force on Accessibility continue to be funded from the general budget of the Diocesan Human Affairs and Concerns Commission until every Diocese of Southern Ohio parish is fully accessible; and be it further
Resolved, that a portion of this fund be used to implement the Diocesan Architecture Commission, whose task is to act as consultants to individual parishes concerned with making their structures barrier-free; and to recommend those parishes in need of financial assistance to the chairman of either of the two existing funds already established by the Trustees of the Diocese. The committee also will send to parishes information on the “how-to’s” of getting started, i.e. building code requirements and other resource materials; and be it further
Resolved, that a portion of the money allocated to the Accessibility Task Force be used to cover expenses of the Architecture Commission for travel, postage and telephone, and be it further
Resolved, that the Task Force on Accessibility report to the 1988 Diocesan Convention the progress of the regions in improving accessibility in the parishes of the Diocese of Southern Ohio.
