Resolved, that the 113th Convention of the Diocese of Southern Ohio, in response to the tragic human suffering, loss of life, unjustified discrimination, estrangement and fear that have occurred as a result of the AIDS epidemic, reaffirm its love and compassion for all who are affected by and affiliated with AIDS; and be it further
Resolved, that the Secretary of Convention, on behalf of the Convention, advises all diocesan bodies to take the following actions:
1) To send a representative to an educational workshop sponsored by the AIDS Task Force of the Diocese of Southern Ohio;
2) Subsequently, to devote at least one hour of their agenda time to an educational presentation of AIDS;
3) To make a thorough investigation of how AIDS affects their specific constituencies and their functions, and how their body can meet their responsibilities in these areas;
4) To report by July 31, 1988, the method of compliance with No. 1, the findings of their investigation, and their conclusions on their responsibilities to the Diocesan Task Force on AIDS, which in turn will report to the 1988 Diocesan Convention.
