Whereas, the 67th General Convention of the Episcopal Church affirmed that a ministry of joint discipleship in Christ with poor and oppressed people, wherever they are found, to meet basic human needs and to build a just society, is at the heart of the mission of the Church; and further the Executive Council directs, implements and coordinates with other programs of the Church the functions of the priority ministry commitment by this Church, called “The Jubilee Ministry,” and
Whereas, in the Diocese of Southern Ohio, which as been committed to ministry to all segments of society, The Church of the Advent, Cincinnati, has been selected as one of the Jubilee Ministry congregations of the National Episcopal Church Jubilee Ministry Program, and
Whereas, the Jubilee Ministry of the National Episcopal Church, and the participation of the Church of the Advent as a part of the Diocese of Southern Ohio needs to be continually affirmed,
Be it therefore resolved, that this 112th Convention of the Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Southern Ohio record its continuing support of the Jubilee Ministry of the National Episcopal Church, and of the local Jubilee Ministry of the Church of the Advent, Cincinnati, their aims and purposes, and continue to seek new expression of this Jubilee Ministry in other congregations around the Diocese.
