Be it resolved that, out of Christian compassion for our brothers and sisters dying in the famine in sub-Saharan Africa, the Bishop designate one Sunday in January, 1985 and one in February, 1985, as “Famine Relief Sunday,” and a special contribution be taken in every parish of the Diocese on those days, designated for aid to the famine victims in Central Africa;

Be it further resolved that, the Bishop be strongly urged to allocate up to $50,000 from funds that are available for distribution at his discretion, to be used for famine relief in Central Africa, on the condition that an equal amount be raised by the parishes of the Diocese of Southern Ohio.  That is, the Bishop is urged to match, dollar for dollar, every dollar raised by the parishes to a maximum of $50,000;

Be it further resolved that, the money raised by the parishes and any matching money allocated by the Bishop, be given to the “Presiding Bishop’s Fund for World Relief,” designated to be used for famine relief in Central Africa.
